14 Hours of Service

Hello!

I hope you all had an awesome week and had fun on October Break! And that you're enjoying the heat, because here in Utah it is in the 50's haha!

Anyways, this week was awesome. We stayed really busy and it was fun to do a ton of service this week. On Monday, we had a lesson with the Mendenhalls, they are doing good. Then Tuesday the highlight was we went and did Baptism for the dead with Curtis!!! He loved it and wants to keep going back, and he could feel the Spirit so strong there he was crying. Just an all around amazing time. We also did some service in the afternoon and pulled weeds at the entrance of this Outdoor Park thingy. It was a lot of weeds.

Wednesday we went on splits with Bro Gardner and Bro Koriya from the 1st Ward, I was with Bro Koriya. He is awesome, he is like 24, served his mission in Bulgaria, played football in college, and is married now. We were visiting a bunch of people and just cracking jokes the whole time in the car and he was telling funny stories about his mission.

Thursday we did service for 4 hours for the City of Ogden. We went to this running path bike trail thing and cleared away brush, trees, branches, and everything imaginable with saws and weedeaters and it was a lot of fun to be with the zone and do that. That night we visited this family whose boys just turned 8, turns out the twin boys live with their grandma in our ward, and their parents were never baptized so we get to baptize them!!! Miracles happen.

Friday we did service for Cowboy and Dennis, who are homeless wheelchair dudes that now get to stay in this house a lady lets them live in, and they never wash their hands or clean or anything so it was pretty gross, but we hung up a tarp over their window they broke, it looked really bad but we made sure the tarp covered it haha. Then we burned our hands off :) that night we taught Mike, and he had all his kids and his wife had all of her kids so there were 6 kids there, we did a coloring activity and I got paired with the 5 year old Jack and the 7 year old Trig. They were so funny hahaha we had a great time. I love that family. They treat us like we are family and it is the best. Oh and big news of the day, a member brought us IN N OUT(which is out of our mission so they brought it to our house) It was so good to get a taste of home. Now if they could just open up a Raising Canes here I would be set for life.

Saturday we walked around a bunch and went tracting and did service for some older ladies cleaning their yards. Overall, it was a solid day. That night we visited Jamie, and she said that she wants to come to church and be baptized so huge step forward! She's decided to just put her faith in God and not worry about her concerns so another miracle.

Sunday Jamie came to church with us, she really loved it. That night Curtis invited us over and we met his wife who is kinda sorta separated from each other, but she told us that she has seen how the gospel has blessed Curtis and now she wants to take the lessons too!! Recent Converts are the best. The gospel is true.

So yeah! This week was an awesome week with a ton of miracles and service. I really do feel the Saviors love for the people of Utah, especially when I am doing service. Like it says in Mosiah 2:17, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." This week I challenge each of you to serve someone! Whether it's something small or big, time consuming or takes 5 seconds, do something for someone else this week, and I promise as you do so that you feel a glimpse of the Saviors love for them, and for us. I love and miss you all and love hearing from you! Have a great week!

Love,
Elder Faraoni
