Hey guys!!
Hope your weeks were awesome and you got to watch conference!! It was awesome!! This week was eventful...felt like 3 weeks put in one! Oh and also, Utah weather is freaking crazy....I think it's cause you have so many Mormons, and 1/2 of them are praying for one type of weather and the other is praying for a different type...
Monday we had an awesome P Day playing sports and eating at the Lara's. They make bomb food. That night all our appointments cancelled so we went tracting in these older citizen peoples apartments and that was hilarious. They all like to talk and the political debate was going on. One lady told us about how she's writing a book on secret combinations and how Trump and Hillary are actually in league with each other to bring down the United States. It was funny!
Tuesday we had interviews with President Allred and training from Sister Allred. President Allred is so awesome. He really just sees right into you and gives awesome advice. I felt the Spirit so strong when I was just talking with him. Then after that we went to Kirts! That place is majestic. That day we just tracted and then that night we helped the Nielsens move all their appliances cause they are getting new ones then we taught the youth and did role plays with them on how to be missionaries. That night we went on exchanges with the zone leaders, and I went with Elder Roveri to their area.
Wednesday we just spent a lot of time walking around and visiting Elder Roveris recent converts. That was pretty good. And it started pouring rain on us. But he wanted to walk to our appointments instead of using his car but it was all good!
Thursday we had everything cancel and then had a correlation with the seminary teachers. Their seminaries are way small...makes me appreciate Mountain View. They gave us a list of kids that aren't going to seminary and hopefully we can help get them to seminary and become closer to Christ. That night we had dinner at this family that always feeds the missionaries, and they always have a taco challenge to see how many we can eat. The previous record was 12, and as a companionship they had 22. Elder To'alepai and I decided to beat it, and he ended up eating 13 and I ate 14. It was majestic. They couldn't believe we ate so much haha. But I'll tell you what, we really regretted it the next day when it came out....hahahaha
Friday we had a bunch of lessons with people we found in the old people apartments, and that night we watched the Joseph Smith video with Jamie and it really helped her testimony of the prophet. Watching that video and seeing the trials not only he but his family and friends went through really strengthened my testimony as well, because why would they go through all that suffering if it wasn't true!
Saturday we watched conference at the Liptrots, and they fed us and we really enjoyed it then we went to priesthood. My favorite talks of the day were Dallin H Oaks on the Saturday afternoon session and Dieter F Uchtdorfs during Priesthood session! They both talked a lot of missionary work and it really stuck with me.
Sunday was Elder To'alepais birthday! He turned 21. We went to the Nielsens for the morning session of conference, President Russell M Nelsons talk and M Russell Ballards were my favorites of that session. After we had cake, ice cream, and spaghetti for his birthday with them, the Brenchleys who are our other senior couple, and the sister missionaries. Then we went to Greg and Silvia's and watched the afternoon session with them and their kids, my favorite talk of that session was David A Bednars and Ronald A Rasband, and Greg also liked Rasbands. Then they fed us more, and baked us a whole cake for us to eat by ourselves....that night we had a couple appointments and then the Liptrots called and said they needed us to come over and we show up and they ALSO baked a cake for us...I feel so fat now. It was a great day though.
I really hope you all had an opportunity to watch conference and hear from the leaders of Christs church this weekend. They really speak with power and help us draw closer to our Savior, and I know that as we heed their council we will be blessed. I love you and miss you all and love hearing from you, and hope you have awesome weeks.
Love,
Elder Faraoni
