40 Miles A Day
Hello everyone!
Sorry, today has been nuts, so I don't have a ton of time to write out
my email like I usually do! Next week will be better for sure.
Monday was awesome, just hung out with the other Elders, got breakfast
together, and just chilled! Tuesday we had Elder Mantle hangout with
us till his new companion got here, then that day we just went and
contacted people and tried to find people to teach!!!
Wednesday we had our usual seminary devo, it was super fun, then after
we visited some former investigators, no luck unfortunately! Then that
night we had another lesson cancel so that was a major bummer.
Thursday we got our car!!!! It was legit, and we have 40 miles a day
for the rest of the month to use so we have been able to go everywhere
we need to! Since we had the car, we were able to drive out to areas
we haven't worked yet and knock some doors, haven't found any success
there yet but we are working on it! That night was the Mission Musical
Fireside, which was super good!! I really enjoyed it, and the Spirit
was so strong! My boy Elder Turnmire spoke and he killed it, he's a
stud!
Friday we had ZTM in Preston, and we drove the Smithfield Elders there
because we had to leave early to go Interview their investigator for
baptism! He passed!! It was a good time! Then after, we again
contacted people, and then had a Ward party for the 23rd Ward!! We won
some homemade bacon and it's bomb.
Saturday was a busy day! We drove lots and knocked lots, and not too
much happened there. Sunday was majestic tho! The whole Stake focused
on inviting people to Easter Sacrament meetings, and we had over 20
nonmembers show up to our various wards!!! We got a lot of work to do
now. I also spoke in the 2nd Ward, it was a good time. That night, we
went over to the Hymas' and had Easter Dinner with them, and we had a
lesson on the Atonement and all it can do for us.
My thought for this week is something I talked about in Sacrament-We
all know the Atonement of Jesus Christ is for sinners, but do we also
realize the Atonement is for saints? That it can help us everyday with
the little trials we have? We need to use the gift the Savior has
given us as much as we can! I know He loves us and wants to help us! I
love and miss you all, have an awesome week!

19 Invites Already
Hello again everyone!!
I hope your weeks were awesome. This week has been a pretty dang good
week! Monday we played sports, got pizza and fiiz, then drove around
in the car the Lorin Farr Elders got for a couple days! Good PDay!
That night we had Ammon and Lilly's baptismal interview and they both
passed!! That was exciting.
Tuesday we got to go to the temple as a zone!! We woke up at like 5 to
be ready and get to the Brigham temple in time. It was really nice and
beautiful. Temples really are the best. After we got breakfast with a
bunch of the missionaries. That day/night, we just tracted lots and
lots and lots of doors hahaha. It's fun though, I am getting some
really intricate door knocks now! We ran into an inactive family named
the Whites, and they told us to come back so we were happy!
Wednesday was cold. And we had District Meeting and after went to
Pizza Pie Cafe, which is all you can eat and it's actually decent
food! Again, everyone was amazed at my appetite and people continue to
know me as the missionary who eats a lot. It's all good though! That
day we tracted more, talked to a couple people but nobody was
interested! Idk why! But!!! This one less active lady told us I don't
want to hear your message but I have a recliner I am getting rid of,
if you can get it out of here today it's yours! So that night (when it
started SNOWING on us) we went and got the recliner and put it in our
apartment! But yeah it was snowing on us as we walked.
Thursday was a good cold day! We literally tracted all day and night
from 10-9 besides lunch and dinner because our lessons cancelled and
we had some really crazy people talk to us! Best part of the day was
seeing my #TeamJesus buddy walking hahaha he started yelling from
forever away and I was dying laughing.
Friday we visited some people, tracted some, and then helped the
Nielsens get/hang up all their Christmas decorations with the Sisters
and that was so fun!! That night we went on exchanges with Elder
Chiang and Laughlin, so I was with a Elder Chiang in our area all day
Saturday! Saturday was Ammon and Lilly's baptism!!! It was so
exciting. There was a ton more people than we expected so we had to
set up a bunch of extra chairs and filled the room! The service was
great. After that Elder Chiang and I visited people and then had a
lesson with the Whites the inactive family! That was....interesting.
They are sorta kinda insane and stopped coming to church/believing for
some really weird reasons. It's crazy and sad how fast they lost their
testimonies. I talked with their Bishop after the lesson and he said
they just like dropped off the face of the Earth. We tried to help
them but they didn't want to but that's ok!
Sunday was great. We went on splits so we could go to everything we
needed to, and I was with Brother Muirbrook in the 2nd Ward, I love
that guy hahaha he's so funny. He and I set up a huge Turkey Bowl game
for Thanksgiving morning, so I am pumped for that. I've been keeping
count of our invitations to come eat Thanksgiving and we are at 19
already. I'm going to get so fat this holiday season. After that,
Elder Woolwine and I went to the 6th Ward with Greg, Sylvia, and their
kids who are already baptized named Julian, Ivan, Fabian, and Cathy.
That was super exciting because Ivan turned 12 and got the priesthood,
and he chose me to give it to him! It was a humbling experience for me
and I really was grateful that he trusted me with it. After we got him
and Julian temple recommends and will get to go with them to the
temple this week! That night we had a lesson with Mike and his family,
those kids are a crack up haha. They are like little cousins now they
always are trying to jump on me and stuff it's funny. After we went to
Greg and thems house and watched the Saratov Approach (which I haven't
seen) and it was way powerful. Those Elders had some strong faith. It
was a good movie and they all liked it so that was good!!
Well, that's all for this week! I hope everyone has a great
Thanksgiving and remembers the most important things in life are our
family and our relationship with our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus
Christ! Especially on a mission I have seen the importance of both of
those and seen the difference it makes in people's lives. I'm thankful
for this opportunity to be on a mission and help people draw closer to
Christ and have better lives, and I am thankful for all of you and the
support you give me! Love and miss you all!

Hitting the Hump at 53
Hello everyone!!
So this week was super busy with meetings! And I hit my year mark so
that was nuts too!! Monday last week was super fun. We played a ton of
sports with the zone, they are ballers it's so fun. After, we just
hung out at the apartment with the ZLs and stuff, then that night we
visited a couple people, found someone New who moved in who is
inactive and their records aren't in so we helped them with that! Then
that night we continued on the tradition of PDAY cookies and made
cookies. It was great.
Tuesday we did service for this family that called us, they had a 24
ft moving truck with a ton of stuff they just threw in it, and had a
16 ft storage unit...needless to say that was interesting. After that,
we planned DM, then had a couple meetings with Auxiliaries for one of
our new wards. We met this super funny WML, he was hilarious and super
awesome. Then we had a Correlation with Bro Coombs, the Park Avenue
WML. He and his wife are super cool so they are fun.
Wednesday we had interviews with President, he just is he best ever.
After those, we met with Bro Cruz who is a WML for another one of the
wards, he's super chill. He's a convert and just is a funny dude.
After that, we just had more meetings with Auxiliaries from some of
our wards, then that night went and contacted a bunch of people!
Thursday we just visited a ton of people and didn't have a whole lot
happen from it, but that night we had an awesome lesson with Ronnie!
I'm super excited with the progress he is making. Then we met with
more people lol. That night tho after we were done we got together and
burned our shirts for our year mark! That was super fun. Friday we had
apartment inspections, then a super awesome lesson with the
Cambodians! They are such fun kids, I'm super excited they are really
solid for the 29th! That night we just visited lots of referrals,
everyone is out of town cause it's super hot here right now.
Saturday was busy. We just knocked doors and tried to catch people
home, and set up a lesson with these people named Mary and Reagan so
I'm excited! Then we had more meetings that night hahaha. Sunday was
the usual! We split up and hit some wards, taught gospel principles,
then that night just knocked doors!!
It's crazy to think that I hit my year mark already, it really does
feel like yesterday that I was getting on a plane to come here! I love
it out here and am super excited for what the next year has in store!
Love and miss you all!

52 Passes with Prez
Hello everyone!
So this past week has been busy. First I'll start with transfer news!
So Elder Layton and I are staying together, we now cover the whole
stake, and we moved Apartments! We now live with the ZLs, and my new
address is 265 E 200 S Logan UT! So the 4th of July! Tuesday was just
majestic. It was super fun! We woke up and then Elder Heaton had to
get his back waxed so that was super funny. Then we went and walked in
a parade and it was super hot but I made sure everyone had a good time
and was the hype man for the missionaries. It was super fun! After we
ran some errands, then half the mission got to together and we went to
the movies!!!!!! We saw this movie Love, Kennedy and it was so good.
All of the missionaries were crying in it, it was that good. After
that, the zone all got together and had a big barbecue and played
football and Spikeball! President was there and he went to college as
a quarterback, so he and I played catch and I'd go out for passes. It
was pretty dang majestic. Just a great day.
Wednesday we had our last district meeting this transfer, it was super
fun I love my district/zone. Then that day we just spent packing and
cleaning our apartment up! It was pretty boring. Thursday we spent
moving and unpacking, then just visiting some people! Nothing too
exciting tho.
Friday was good! We got to meet a lot of people in the rest of the
wards, and had a lesson with this Cambodian family! The mom got
baptized a long time ago but is looking to get back to church, and she
has 3 kids that can be baptized too! They are supposed to be baptized
on the 29th, so that's awesome!! Other than that we just visited some
more people and got some bomb icecream!
Saturday was an interesting day. We had a lesson cancel and tell us
they didn't want to meet with us anymore, a Native American dude went
off on us and started trying to argue with us, and we got lots of
doors shut on us! But, we know we will get blessings from it. And we
got Texas Roadhouse that night, so we are already getting some of
those blessings! Sunday we had lots of meetings, and then President
texted us and said he was coming to get us (Elder Layton's visa got
here) so we had lunch with him and his family, they are the best. Then
they talked about time frame of Layton leaving which we should find
out this week!
I'm loving it here and it's crazy to think that this week I hit my
year mark! Time is flying, I can't believe I'm half way done! I love
and miss you all!!

51 Majestic Cars
Happy 4th of July everyone!!!
So I totally forgot to tell everyone, but today is all day PDay! So we
worked yesterday. Anyways, this past week has been a busy, awesome
week for sure! So on Monday, we had an awesome zone activity, we had a
Spikeball tournament and it was awesome! Elder Gellis and I got 2nd,
so losing wasn't good but it was still fun! After that we had a huge
kickball game and that was cool! After that, just the usual missionary
work!!
Tuesday I had to do a bunch of stuff for my district, then that day we
visited more referrals and Auxiliaries, not a whole lot happened with
that unfortunately. Wednesday we had lots of good visits, and had an
awesome lesson! That night, we also went with the Providence Elders
and helped them teach a lesson, then played ping pong with them and
their investigator! It was super awesome.
Thursday we had ADTM, my boy Turnmire killed it as usual, so did
Ludlow. It was a good time, after we got some Chick Fil A so that was
delicious. After, we knocked more doors and had a funny experience
with a lady slamming the door on us so that awesome. Then we met our
new WML and he and his wife are awesome! They are 22&21 and he has
only been home a year and they are just awesome.
Friday we had Return and Report, and it was also Presidents birthday
so I snuck a present onto his desk. He's a huge Seahawks fan so he
loved it a lot hahaha :) I'll attach a picture. After that, we went
and contacted at the cruise in, which is a hugeeeee car show. There
were so many pretty cars. We met a ton of cool people as well, that
was awesome! That night, we had a good lesson with Ronnie, and he said
he should have his legal stuff taken care of soon! It was awesome.
Then we had a great lesson with Eric on faith and Repentance and he
really loved it. He's a good guy.
Saturday we just contacted more all day, not a whole lot exciting
happened, but the cruise in was so cool! I'll attach a lot of
pictures. That night we went to dinner with that WML, it was pretty
chill. Not a whole lot of people were home that night though! Sunday
we just did the usual meetings and such, but we sang patriotic songs
and I just love America. Then that night blitzed the Sisters area! We
found them a new investigator so that was awesome.
Monday we went and did some bomb service with the other Elders, I got
to dig a huge hole so that was chill! Then that night Kali and Karson
were back with their foster parents and we had a lessons with them and
gave her a blessing.
So during church, when we sang the Star Spangled Banner, these lines
from the 3rd Verse really touched me. It goes "Blest with victory and
peace, may the heaven rescued land praise the power that hath made and
preserved us a nation...and this be our motto: In God is our trust,"
and as I was singing that I really thought about how blessed we are to
live in this land and how grateful we should be not only to God but to
the people that have sacrificed their lives for us so we and others
could be free. I hope everyone has an awesome week, I love and miss
you all!

Hey everyone!
Sorry this is getting out late we have had a busy day. So last Monday,
we played glow-in-the-dark dodgeball, and that was actually pretty
fun! Not much else happened that day, that night I went with Elder
Turnmire to go do a baptism interview for them! That was good, the guy
was super ready!
Tuesday we just knocked and knocked and knocked and walked lots. It
was fun with Elder Layton tho, he's hilarious. Not much happened that
day, a lot of people either weren't home or weren't interested.
Wednesday, we had District Meeting, and that went super well I think.
We talked about having faith in ourselves, our investigators, and our
area and how we can have miracles. It was exactly what everyone needed
so that was good! After that, we visited a lot of Auxiliaries and
knocked more doors and got some good referrals.
Thursday was good, we got to contact most of our referrals, found
someone that said we could come back! So that was majestic. But then
we got lots of bad news back to back. Our investigator DJ told us he
didn't want to meet with us, and then we got a text letting us know
that Kali and Karson have to go back and live with their biological
parents, so that was a real downer. That night, I did an interview for
the other Elders, then went and visited people with Elder Heaton!
Friday we had apartment inspections (we passed) and then we had weekly
planning. After that, we went and visited more people! Then we ate
dinner with this bomb family from Tonga!!! Sooooo good, then that
night we went and blitzed some Elders in my district area so that they
could get people to teach, and that was a success! I was super
pumped!!!
Saturday the other Elders had a baptism, and their piano player
cancelled last minute again so I went and did that for them. It went
good, I was happy! After, I went on exchanges again with Elder Heaton
and found them 4 new investigators! That was way dope, I was excited
for them, then that night we had an awesome dinner with this less
active family!
Sunday we had lots of meetings then just went and visited people! It
was a good time, we talked with this funny guy that said we could come
back so that was good!
Something that really stuck out to me this week was the parable of the
talents that Jesus talked about. We each have individual talents and
attributes that we can use and grow to bless others, but if we don't
use them then we lose them!
I love and miss you all!!!

49 Challengers
Hello again!
So this past week has been super busy. We have had a gazillion
meetings and things we've had to do, but it has been good!
So Monday we just did the usual, zone sports and food and chill with
the other Elders, it was super cold and rainy all day though so that
was weird!! Tuesday we were on exchanges with the ZLs, I spent the
first half of the day with Elder Ludlow and then the last half with
Elder Turnmire! Elder Ludlow is such a chill dude, we had some good
convos while we knocked doors and I learned lots from him. He's super
tall and gets buckets. Elder Turnmire and I just laughed the entire
time haha. We had an interview for someone getting baptized and then
we knocked doors, and the whole time we were cracking jokes and it was
just like old times. That guys is a baller.
Wednesday we helped the city set up this thing called Summerfest,
which is a huge art show thing. We helped set up all the tents and
booths, it was fun but super tiring. After, I went with Elder Gellis
to a lesson with one of their investigators named Larry, and that went
good. Thursday we had a mission tour with Elder Nattress from the
Seventy. He is so awesome!! We received a ton of cool instruction and
stuff, and I learned a lot.
Friday we had MLC with Elder Nattress, and he taught us a ton more
there too!!! After I was with Elder Heaton working his area, it was a
good time! He's a funny dude. That night we went to Summerfest and
just contacted a ton of people, it was a good time! Saturday was a
busy day. We had the Nibley parade, and then we were in charge of the
pioneer games. I was in charge of Stick Pull, and I beat all the other
missionaries, and apparently people started hearing I was good and all
the young dads came and tried to beat me. I whooped em all so that was
legit, but I was so tired by the end of the day! Also someone said I
could play Joseph Smith in a church movie, I thought that was funny
stuff. That night we went and all of our appointments cancelled. That
really sucked.
Sunday was just a regular day of meetings, and we had an awesome
lesson with Kali! They are super funny, and the kids are just so cool!
Well, I miss and love you all!! Shout out to my dad, his birthday is
this week he's becoming an old man and I love him and miss him lots!
